As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, most countries have put in place travel restrictions to discourage non-essential travel, to contain further spread of the virus. There are stringent guidelines for essential travellers too, ranging from documentation to prove they are asymptomatic to 14 to 28 days of quarantine once you reach your destination. Several countries require that permitted international travellers furnish results of PCR tests conducted 72 hours before embarking on their journey and/or a self-declaration form that they do not have Covid-19 symptoms along with details of their travel history.

Countries that have mandated a Covid-19 PCR test prior to travel or self-declaration by permitted travellers are:

Austria – PCR test conducted at the most 4 days before travel

Azerbaijan – PCR test conducted 48 hours prior to travel

Bahamas – PCR test conducted at the most 7 days before travel

Bangladesh – PCR test conducted at the most 72 hours before travel

Bosnia and Herzegovina – PCR test conducted at the most 72 hours before travel

Cambodia- PCR test conducted at the most 72 hours before travel

Chile – PCR test prior to travel

China – a 14-28-day quarantine at a government facility along with medical examination and a Covid-19 test are mandated.

Ecuador – PCR test conducted prior to travel. Those without test result will be tested upon arrival

France – Self declaration by traveller

Italy – Self declaration by traveller

Malaysia – Covid-19 test conducted prior to travel

Portugal – Covid-19 test conducted at the most 72 hours before travel. Traveller without test result are subjected to quarantine.

Samoa – Covid-19 test conducted within 5 days prior to travel

Singapore – Self declaration by traveller

South Korea – Covid-19 test conducted at the most 72 hours before travel

Spain – Self declaration

In addition to this, most of the Schengen area countries have mandated a 14-28-day quarantine or a Covid-19 test or both. This list includes countries like Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, Estonia, Iceland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Cyprus.
